Montenvers Refuge, Chamonix

Overlooking the Mer de Glace and Aiguille des Drus, the Montenvers Refuge is a unique, high mountain hotel, restaurant and bar which is steeped in history. The Montenvers train is an experience in itself with its rack and pinion railway as it travels from Chamonix to Montenvers. Winding its way up the side of the mountain, amongst the pine forests and through dark tunnels of rock, the Montenvers train has been running this route for over 100 years. The Montenvers Refuge is just a two minute walk from the arrival point.

The Montenvers Refuge was recently renovated and reopened in July 2017.
