Quito Gastronomy & Colonial Center Tour

Begin by exploring the beautifully preserved colonial center, a maze of cobbled streets and a blend of gothic, baroque and colonial architecture with impressive churches and palaces dotted throughout. Discover the main plaza where some of the more important buildings can be found, including the government palace and the San Francisco monastery, and then wander through La Ronda which is one of the city's more bohemian neighborhoods.
You will also enjoy a cookery experience with Altamira's executive chef, learning how to create some of Ecuador's signature dishes. You'll be welcomed by Edwin at the Basilica del Voto Nacional from where you'll head together to the restaurant which is housed in an old colonial home with a beautiful Spanish-style courtyard. Once you're done cooking, you'll discover the history of Ecuadorian chocolate with established brand Republica del Cacao, followed by a tasting of the delicious treat.
The final stop on the tour will be the 'Panecillo' hill which dominates Quito's skyline in the south of the city. Admire the famous statue of the Lady of Panecillo, as well as the impressive views over the city.
