Best time to visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit

Cambodia is hot all year round and the best time to visit is during the dry season, which runs from November to April. It starts to get wetter in May and the wettest months are September and October. It is still possible to visit during this time as rain usually falls as short sharp storms. November is a fantastic month to visit Cambodia as it is very green after the rainy season and the lakes and rivers are full of water.

Itinerary

Day 1-4

Siem Reap & Angkor Wat

Your personally curated trip through Cambodia begins with a private tour to the magnificent temples of Angkor that pepper the rural and jungle clad landscape surrounding Siem Reap.

Spend several days exploring these intricate jungle ruins with your private specialist guide, avoiding the crowds and getting to the lesser visited corners. Visit the ancient capital of Angkor Thom after the crowds disperse, and marvel at the mysterious faces of Bayon. Finish the day with a relaxing sunset cruise around the moat of Angkor Thom, sipping a cooling drink as the sun disappears into the jungle. Your guide will also ensure that you get a perfect view of the sun rising over Angkor Thom, a hugely popular experience that we nevertheless thoroughly recommend.  Stay at the exclusive Amanasara, the former guesthouse of King Sihanouk, luxurious and tranquil – the perfect retreat after a day's sightseeing offering fantastic service, delicious cuisine and luxury accommodation.  Revel in the exclusive twilight dining experience with the Amansara at the Srah Srang, traditional Khmer House at the heart of the Angkor Archaeological Park.

Accommodation: Amansara ( 3 nights )
Day 4-7

Mekong Delta

Travel in style between Siem Reap and Phnom Penh with a trip on the luxurious Aqua Mekong, easily Indochina’s most high-end river cruising experience.

Spend three nights making your way south across Tonle Sap lake and down the river to Phnom Penh. Aqua Mekong has 20 luxurious suites, which have been designed to views with floor to ceiling windows from your day bed in your suite. The en-suite bathrooms are chic and light with walk-in showers and natural bath amenities. You will be spoiled for choice when it comes to dining; the chef on board is one of Asia's top ranked and the produce could not be fresher as the chef shops at local riverside markets which you are encouraged to help with, before he creates inspiring dishes for you to enjoy. You will enjoy stopping en-route as your cruise down the Mekong witnessing changing scenery, fascinating culture, and everyday lifestyles of the locals. During the dry season it is not possible to cross Tonle Sap on a large boat and you will instead fly to Phnom Penh to embark on a three-night cruise up Tonle Sap river to the lake from the south side and explore up the fork of the Mekong, starting and finishing in Phnom Penh.

Accommodation: Aqua Mekong ( 3 nights )
Day 7-9

Phnom Penh

In Phnom Penh you will be able to spend two nights to enjoy some time in Cambodia’s sleepy riverside capital.  Rosewood Phnom Penh brings ultimate luxury to this charming city, with its cantilevered sky bar and suites boasting the Rosewood style and ambience, soaring high above the heart of Phnom Penh it is the only high-rise hotel in the city with unbeatable views.

Embarking on a guided tour of the less savory side of the country’s recent history, starting with the infamous Killing Fields where the Khmer Rouge carried out a terrible genocide in the late 1970s. Cambodia also has a rich culture however, and is recovering well, so you will also be able to visit the Royal Palace and the striking Silver Pagoda, two of the city’s most famous sites.

Accommodation: Rosewood Phnom Penh ( 2 nights )
Day 9-13

Coastal Cambodia

Dive into ultimate luxury as you head for island life. For your last three nights you will continue 90-minutes south by road, followed by a short speedboat journey to the intimate Six Senses Krabey Island.

The luxurious Six Senses property is on the almost untouched Koh Rong Archipelago. With a scattering of private pool villas, giving the island a very intimate and peaceful feel. You can really unwind during the days either on the beach or by the pool. If you are feeling more active you could take a kayak and head around the islands, enjoy a spot of snorkeling or diving and venture off for gourmet picnic lunches to local beaches by speedboat, there is truly a plethora of activities on offer at one of the most exclusive beach resorts in Asia.

Accommodation: Six Senses Krabey Island ( 4 nights )
Day 13-16

Kirirom National Park

Where else can you check in to a hotel via a 320m zip wire, flying over the jungle canopy and rushing waterfall?  A hoot and an adrenaline rush at the same time, this lays the pathway to the adventures that await you at Shinta Mani Wild.

Leave museums and tour guides behind and travel three hours south to Shinta Mani Wild, the fabulous wildlife tented camp located near Kirirom National Park. Consisting of 16 gorgeously decorated tents all located around a central river and waterfall, this luxury camp is designed to recall the age of exploration and La Belle Epoque. Spend your days lazing on your open balcony and taking in the panoramic views or trekking into the forest with rangers to check camera traps and study the local wildlife. You can take a cooking lesson after foraging for ingredients, or simply relax at the luxurious Boulders Spa. You can enjoy the full services of a Bensley Butler as you unwind between excursions. Your Adventure Butler will tailor unforgettable activities to your taste and fitness, and everything is included. This is a unique experience to see some areas of Cambodia that have never before been open to tourism.
