Viking History of Newfoundland

As you travel along the coastline of Newfoundland you chart a course through history, to the beach of L’anse aux Meadows where Viking long ships would once have landed and where the Norseman, Leif Erickson is believed to have founded ‘Vinland’. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to reconstructed sod huts and Norse ruins which you will explore with the resident archaeologist to discover evidence of the arrival of the Vikings in North America 500 years before Columbus. You then board the ship and cross the Strait of Belle Isle as you travel towards Labrador.
