The Banyan Tree in Phuket is a luxury tropical resort set within a gorgeous National Park, with spacious private pool villas with a Thai influence, within a lagoon complex offering a vast choice of restaurants, activities and an award-winning spa.
The Banyan Tree Phuket was created as South East Asia’s first luxury garden spa resort, with villas tucked into a corner of Bang Tao Bay in the Laguna area of Phuket. This Laguna complex is home to a cluster of five luxury hotels, six palm fringed lagoons, 600 acres of parkland and three kilometres of pristine beach. The Banyan Tree Phuket is built around the Laguna and guests can take a small junk boat on a sunset cruise, or enjoy a private barbecue in their garden.
The spacious villas at The Banyan Tree are open plan in design, flooded with natural light and are all elegantly styled to reflect Thailand’s rich culture. A highlight is that they all have their own secluded garden with either a jet pool or private swimming pool.
The facilities here are exceptional, with a huge choice of restaurants and sporting, cultural and pampering activities. For those wanting privacy however, the Banyan Tree villas offer a retreat and the incredible in-villa dining options blow the concept of 'room service' out of the water. Also, due to the close proximity to other hotels in Laguna and local restaurants on the beach, your dining options are very variable!
The Banyan Tree Phuket has 220 villas elegantly appointed with Thai decor. The Banyan Pool Villas showcase Thai-inspired dressing rooms and open air bathtub whilst all have have private jet pools. The Serenity Pool Villas have 17.5 sqm private swimming pool and whirlpool baths. In addition to these room types, there are a variety of one, two and three bedroom pool villas each which feature, private pools and decking and spacious interiors - ideal for families travelling.
Children are very welcome at the Banyan Tree Phuket and the Turtle Club has activities such as sand sculpture, kite making and batique painting, There is also a Banyan Tree Rangers programme for children aged 5 - 10 years encouraging them to explore nature and make the most of their senses. Children aged 9-14 can take part in the Quest Adventure Programme which is also available to families and adults offering activities such as high ropes, abseiling and rock climbing. Babysitting is also available.
Banyan Tree Phuket has eight cafes, restaurants and bars offering an enormous variety of cuisines, settings and atmospheres as well as dinner cruises and fabulous private dining experiences. There are three tennis courts, a library, the Laguna Phuket Golf Club with 18 hole course, 40m lap pool, free form pool and internationally acclaimed pioneering Banyan Tree Spa .
Activities at Banyan Tree Phuket are numerous and there are activity programmes for tai chi, aerobics, aqua toning, diving, sailing, windsurfing even batique painting. The Quest Adventure Programme is for those wanting to do adventurous outdoor activities such as rock climbing and abseiling. Other activities outside the resort can also be arranged such as horse riding, jungle safaris, deep sea fishing and island hopping.

If you are a banyan tree lover, you will love the villas in Phuket. They are vast. The lake in the middle of the resort is beautiful, not to mention the golf course and Spa. The only fault is the beach is very public. Although all beaches in Thailand are public, this beach is popular for locals and is a bit of a walk away from your room.

Banyan Tree Phuket is a very big resort located in the Laguna area of Phuket, which is also home to many other big resorts. It feels very much like a village with individual villas dotted around the area accessed by buggies to save time with facilities also spread out through the resort. The villas are luxuriously appointed with lots of natural light and mod con furnishings and the facilities are extensive to cater from your food needs to your entertainment needs. Sadly the beach is probably the biggest let down here, it is located across the road and has a very public feel to it with only a small section put aside for Banyan Tree guests.

The huge sprawling villa complex of the Banyan Tree is in the Laguna area of Phuket. This is one of the most developed areas of any Thai island with other hotels with an 18-hole golf course and a shopping village in close proximity. With its manicured gardens and modern buildings, you could be anywhere in the world and it definitely is not an authentic Thai experience, but it is overly luxurious and reminiscent of resorts in the Middle East or Mauritius.
