Yala National Park is located in the south eastern corner of Sri Lanka, and has a very diverse landscape which attracts a wide range of wildlife, including 44 different species of mammal such as water buffalo, elephants, sloth bears and, of course, the elusive leopard. There are also plenty of species of reptile such as turtles, crocodiles and lizards, and it is fantastic for bird watching. Every stay at Chena Huts includes safaris within the park.
The spacious cabins have been tastefully designed to fit in beautifully with the safari feel of the property and location, with natural materials and neutral colours. Dining at Uga Chena Huts isn't limited to the property's beautifully designed Basses Restaurant. With the emphasis being very much on bespoke and private experiences, guests can dine in their pavilions, or have a private table set up under the stars for a truly unforgettable evening.
When to visit
As well as doing game drives, we recommend doing the bush walk from Chena Huts which allows you to encounter flora & fauna you wouldn't normally from a jeep
