The gardens are a feature of the hotel, and the blending of indoor/outdoor space has been expertly thought through. The area is known for its biodiversity and mongoose, monkeys, and rare Malabar Hornbills have all been frequent visitors to the grounds. In the quest for sustainable tourism, the hotel uses solar power to heat its water. Rainwater is used for irrigation and Malabar Hill also has its own waste-water treatment plant.
