The Relais & Chateaux Mas de Torrent has been established in its 18th century Catalan farmhouse for about 25 years. It is one of the best hotels in the region, boasting idyllic surroundings and luxury accommodation, just an hour and a half from Barcelona.
Highlights
Located in a converted 18th century Catalan farmhouse
Fine Mediterranean dining in the hotel's two restaurants
Situated in the stunning Catalan countryside which can be explored by bicycles provided by the hotel and viewed from the hotel's terraces and balconies
Outdoor pool and indoor heated pool
Mas de Torrent offers the superlative service and excellent environment and amenities for which Relais & Chateaux are renowned. Inside the original building there are ten Masia Suite rooms individually named after flowers. Their interiors reflect the original period the property was built through antique decoration. Garden Suite rooms are located away from the main farmhouse, each with private terraces to soak up views of the manicured gardens and pool. For more privacy, however, you may wish to occupy one of the seven Naranjos Suites, each with a private pool and additional jacuzzi bathroom.
Cuisine at the hotel is offered from two Mediterranean restaurants and as with all Relais & Chateaux members they strive for the highest quality. Restaurant Mas de Torrent serves local Catalan food with a contemporary, gastronomic twist. The hotel's location near Spain's wine country means there is also a plentiful wine list of over 800 to choose from. If a less formal atmosphere in the summer is more to your liking, then visit the Restaurant Piscina, overlooking the pool and gardens, and serving a delicious selection of the freshest fish and seafood.
During your stay at The Relais & Chateaux Mas de Torrent there are a diverse range of activities on offer to keep you amused. If you like exercise, food, beautiful views and relaxing spa treatments then this is the ideal retreat for you. The gym on site is well equipped and if the outdoor pool is a tad chilly for you, there is a heated one in the spa accompanied by a sauna and Hamman. Outside on the decking, loungers are situated in prime location to embrace the Catalonian sun or can be moved under the (often welcome) sheltered area.
Why not explore the enchanting Catalan countryside on foot, hot air-balloon, horseback, quad bike, or on hybrid bikes supplied by the hotel. There is also another village with a couple of eateries just a 30-minute walk away if you fancy a change of scenery.
