Celebrate girl power by including a BRAVE Rock Girl trainee guide on any of your Cape Town tours, offering unparralled opportunity for cultural exchange. The pioneering BRAVE initiative trains girls aged 14–18 from the city’s most under served communities to become leaders capable of imparting a different story about the richness of the Cape. BRAVE was born in 2011 when a group of ten-year-old girls from Manenberg stood up to gang violence in their community, drawing inspiration from the iconic anti-apartheid slogan: “You strike a woman, you strike a rock.”
Particularly great for teens, but for anyone keen to really get under the skin of Cape Town, having one of these girls join you round the city offers a deeper insight into the complex history, social activism, arts and prosperity around every corner. Each tour sparks meaningful connections between young people and adults from different worlds while directly supporting a 100% non-profit organisation.
