One of the best ways to explore the dramatic Drakensberg is by foot, guests can take some of the many hiking trails either with a guide or alone to enjoy spectacular scenery at popular destinations such as the summit of Montusi Mountain, Bushman Cave, Waterfall Cave and even streams and rock pools for summer swimming. Aside from hiking trails there are also stables within easy distance from the lodge where all levels of rider are catered for. Taking guests on gentle strolls or something a bit faster paced.
Guests staying at Montusi Mountain Lodge can also rent mountain bikes from All Out Adventures, just 4km from the lodge. There is an extensive network of North Drakensberg mountain bike trails which have a range of trails for all levels.
Back at the lodge guests can also spend time relaxing in the spa (extra cost), cooling off in the swimming pool, or running around on the tennis courts.
