To start planning your holiday to Gocta Lodge

Perched at 1800 metres above sea level, high in the cloud forests of the Cocachimba Valley of northern Peru, Gocta Lodge offers a unique location overlooking the spectacular two-tiered Gocta Falls.

Peru’s northern cloud forests are home to a wealth of treasures, from incredible wildlife and mysterious pre-Incan ruins, to the majestic Gocta Falls, tumbling 771 metres off a vast cliff in the middle of the forest. Gocta Lodge sits across the Cocachimba Valley from this magnificent sight that was only discovered by the outside world in 2005, offering panoramic views from every single room. In keeping with its spectacular surroundings, the lodge is built in a traditional Peruvian style, hewn from local stone and wood from the forest. Rooms are simply but tastefully decorated, with whitewashed walls and splashes of colour, to allow the views take centre stage.
At the heart of the lodge, the restaurant serves up Peruvian specialities using fresh local ingredients, and guests can choose to dine in the cosy dining room or on the covered outdoor terrace, admiring the views. The outdoor swimming pool is the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the wonders of the cloud forest.
The Chachapoyas region of the Andes is rich in both natural and archaeological wonders, including the pre-Colombian city of Kuelap, dubbed ‘the Macchu Picchu of the north’ and the sarcophagi of Karajia. The obvious draw of Gocta Lodge are the falls themselves, reached in two hours as you trek through the spectacular cloud forest, looking out for the colourful Andean cock-of-the-rock as you hike further towards the crashing waterfalls.
