Northern California is best visited from April to October. San Francisco's sights can be enjoyed any time of year, whereas Yosemite is best visited during Spring, Summer and Autumn, when all parts of the park are accessible and waterfalls are flowing (note: by September and October, the falls will have dried up). Napa also enjoys fantastic weather during this period, but if you're a big foodie, head here in October for the annual wine harvest.

Leaving the vineyards behind, it's time to head to the spectacular Yosemite National Park.
