Explora Journeys brings a refreshing approach to the cruise scene, by redefining the luxury ocean experience.
Focusing on guests who have never been on a cruise before and are ‘cruise curious’, Explora’s ships are designed to be more like hotels at sea. Every stereotype and convention surrounding the idea of what ocean cruising is all about has been intentionally turned on its head. There’s no cruise director, entertainment theatre, or preset programme of events.

Destinations
During her first year, Explora I has visited 40 different countries and a staggering 132 ports. Explora II will launch in 2024 with two further ships being built meaning Explora Journeys will be offering a global programme.
Accommodation
The suites are large when compared to Explora’s peers, the smallest being 35 sqm. Each has large floor-to-ceiling windows and a private terrace with a daybed. We love the extra touches such as the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer and a pair of binoculars for guests to use throughout their journey. If you haven’t cruised before, you can expect the space and standard you would be used to from a contemporary luxury city hotel.
With several room categories, our guests have particularly enjoyed the Ocean Residences, each with a private outdoor whirlpool.
Services
Your onboard butler will pack and unpack your luggage to your preference and will be there to arrange in-suite dining, a milestone birthday or special celebration or simply to press a creased dress before dinner. Onboard you will be treated to unlimited drinks including fine wines and those premium spirits that are often charged for.
Facilities
You will be spoiled with culinary excellence at the eight different restaurants, with Chef Mauro Uliassi curating the menus, and a series of unique and interesting bars with a 700 sqm metre spa, allowing you to fully unwind during your voyage. Explora I is packed with onboard facilities consummate with this level of ship.
Experiences
The level of experiences on offer is really what makes the Explora Journeys stand out from other cruise lines. You certainly won’t be following someone through town who is waving a flag. The focus is on small intimate groups with a highly tailored offering. The team at Explora has focused on behind-the-scenes access and VIP entry to landmark sites. With a strong focus on art, culture and seeing the little-known places a destination has to offer.
