Kenya is a dry country, with regional variations in temperature and rainfall. On the coast, the weather is tropical with high humidity in April and May, and occasional monsoon winds. Inland (including the Central Highlands and Rift Valley) the climate is temperate. The long rains fall from March to May and the short rains fall from late October to December. The best time to visit is usually July to February, and the wildebeest migration usually occurs from mid-July to September.

Day 1 – Arrival & First Safari Arrive at the Mara North Airstrip and transfer to Kicheche Mara Camp. Settle into your tent, enjoy lunch, and head out on your first game drive in the Mara North Conservancy to spot elephants, giraffes, plains game, and possibly big cats. End the day with sundowners and dinner at camp under the stars.
Day 2 – Classic Safari Day & Optional Ballooning Enjoy a full safari day exploring the conservancy with your guide, including extensive game viewing and a bush breakfast or picnic. Optional hot air balloon safari at sunrise for a spectacular aerial view of the Mara. Return to camp for relaxation, a short nature walk around camp, and possibly a night game drive to look for nocturnal animals.
Day 3 – Extended Game Drive & Maasai Culture Spend the day on an extended game drive with a picnic lunch in the bush, focusing on big cats, elephants, and sensational wildlife viewing along the river bank. Later, visit a local Maasai village to learn about traditional culture, daily life, and crafts. Return to camp for a relaxed evening and storytelling by the fire.
Day 4 – Bush Walk & Leisure Safari Take a guided bush walk with an armed ranger to learn about tracks, plants, birds, and smaller wildlife. Enjoy downtime at camp before heading out on another game drive to areas you may not have explored yet. Finish the day with the setting sun and a farewell dinner at camp.
Day 5 – Final Game Drive & Departure Enjoy one last game drive for any final wildlife sightings before returning to camp for breakfast. Transfer to the airstrip for your onward journey.
