Lengishu sits in the exclusive Borana Conservancy at 2000 metres on the foothills of Mount Kenya and has been built entirely out of sustainable materials. This exclusive-use house has been beautifully designed to include local material from Kenya including stone and wood to create a unique space that fits perfectly into the Laikipia landscape.
The main area of the house opens with a large entrance hall which leads into a study and sitting and dining room which feature two large and warming fireplaces, as well as incredible views across the conservancy. Wooden beams and panels have been made from teak and gum poles while the floors are stone and wood to create an unfussy and stylish interior to offer the feel of a home-away-from-home. The main areas lead out to a large covered veranda with stunning views across the conservancy which houses a pizza oven for delicious lunches and dinners.
A stay on Lengishu is not complete without exploring the incredible Borana Conservancy and learning about the important work they undertake here. As such the activities offered are game drives with an experienced and knowledgeable guide who will take you across the conservancy to track and search for game as well as informing you of how the Borana Conservancy works hard to support the conservation of animals and the community. As well as game drives, Lengishu also offers bush walks, sundowner excursions, and bush meals. Borana is an excellent place to go horse riding and offers horses to cater for all riding abilities.
