Highlights
Complete privacy and exclusivity, with private house staff, safari vehicle and guide. All activities and meals are private.
Be hosted by the Samburu and Maasai who own the lodge, giving them unparalleled and authentic access to their culture and life-events.
Explore the private reserve and discover a region untouched by mass tourism.
Four stunning villas on a hilltop with otherworldly views of endless mountain ranges and valleys, on 40,000 acres of wilderness.
Ol Lentille is a collaborative conservation project, where tourism provides financial and in kind benefits to the pastoralist communities who own the land. The conservancy is home to elephant, greater kudu, eland, leopard, lion, hyena, Grevy’s zebra, gerenuks and other antelope species. Packs of rare wild dog occasionally settle in the conservancy. Ol Lentille is also a bird watcher’s paradise.
The lodge comprises of four houses, each secluded and intimate, each with its own Maasai or Samburu staff, including a guide, host, housekeeper and a night askari. Meals are taken at the villa, or in one of several locations within the lodge or in the bush.
In addition to the four houses, Ol Lentille has a wonderful infinity pool with views stretching to the horizon, and a small spa offering a variety of body and beauty treatments.
Day and night game drives, and a variety of walks are on offer, ranging from gentle nature walks to more challenging hikes through the rugged landscape. A climb up Ol Lentille hill, a sacred spot for the Maasai, and Laikipia’s highest point at 6000ft, is a must.
Visits to Maasai or Samburu villages are different here because of the unique dynamic created by the ownership of the lodge by a Maasai community. Guests might be invited to a cup of chai and a chat in a house, join a wedding ceremony, a women’s blessing or a warrior initiation. These are authentic and meaningful insights into an ancient culture.
Other activities include walks to the 'singing wells', bush picnics and dinners, spectacular sundowners, and a visit to a habituated baboon colony.
