Anna, one of our America specialists has recently returned from a trip to Florida, a fantastic new addition to our North America offering. What a fantastic new addition to our portfolio.

What a fantastic new addition to our portfolio. Yes, Florida is conventional and has been around forever in the package holiday market, however, now it’s enjoying more of a resurgence in the luxury holiday market and although it’s still tough to get away from the masses there, it is possible to enjoy an exclusive getaway, a perfect white sand beach and superb service.

My recent trip took me from the theme parks of Disney to the sugar white sands of Naples and the laid back charm of the keys, through to the trendy vibe of South Beach Miami and the glamour and sophistication of Palm Beach. Florida is so much more than Disney, however, if the kids need to go then at least do it in style!  Avoid the busy themed hotels and head for the Waldorf Astoria. Still within Disney it offers a sophisticated edge with some wonderful dining (try La Luce, amazing Italian cuisine at the Hilton next door) great facilities for families (yes there is a kids club!) and complimentary transport to and from Disney.

The theme parks can be overwhelming so head for the beach afterwards.  Naples with it’s sugar white sand is 3 hours away, as is the sophisticated luxury of Palm Beach. Opposite sides of the state but equally as good. I loved sunset in Naples, beautiful skies, calm lagoon like seas and I was even treated to the sight of a stingray frolicking around in the shallows, amazing! Palm Beach offers a more sophisticated edge with amazing dining and shopping and some superb hotels. I was there during a bit of a windy spell and the Atlantic ocean is mesmerising as the waves come rolling in. It’s a great time for body boarding and the older kids staying at the hotel were out loving the surf  I stayed at The Breakers and although it’s a pretty big hotel the ocean front rooms have got to be one of the best positions to be in. Amazing water views!

For couples, perhaps head to the keys. Little Palm Island is just stunning, totally away from it all and so exclusive. Their new cottages have fantastic decks with hot tubs and fire pits to sit around in the evening.  It must be incredible to be there in the evening, wonderfully quiet and romantic. The Keys aren’t known for their beaches (there are no natural beaches) but their charm and relaxed nature makes them a magnet for those wanting to get away from it all.

Florida is a wonderful option for those looking to travel to North America, easy to get to, some fantastic beaches, plenty for families to do and wonderful sunshine!
