Zighy Bay is the ideal antidote to the large scale continual construction work in Dubai and is located in the peaceful haven of Northern Oman. The resort has 82 pool villas and beautifully blends the traditional rustic Omani architectural techniques with a modern innovative twist, offering a subtle sense of luxury, masterfully crafted with the appreciation of the local surroundings. There are a number of differing room types to suit any party size and requirements.
The resort has a large central swimming pool with a poolside service offering snacks, drinks and ice cream. The Spa, operated by Six Senses, offers nine treatment rooms and has a full range of treatments. There are non-d water sports on offer, a library with a wide selection of movies, DVDs, books and magazines and a fully equipped gym.
With a philosophy of sourcing excellent ingredients to give a fantastic culinary experience, the four restaurants blend the rustic Omani village feel, yet ooze elegance and sophistication. There are a multitude of options to choose from including Western, Middle Eastern, Indian and Japanese at Summer House. 'Shua Shack' offers traditional Bedouin communal dining experience with under sand cooking. The 'Sense on the Edge’ restaurant is an award-winning mountain top dining venue, located 293 meters above sea level, overlooking Zighy Bay, with an adjacent lounge ‘Drinks on the Edge’. The other bar ‘Chill’ offers a chance to kick back with a sun downer.

Six Senses Zighy Bay has 82 generous-sized villas comprising of 1-bedroom Pool Villas and Pool Villa Suites, 2-bedroom Zighy Pool Villas, 2-bedroom Zighy Pool Villa Suites, 2-bedroom Retreats and a 4-bedroom Private Reserve. The villas are designed and furnished to reflect local Omani culture, and offer privacy and tranquillity. The bathrooms in all the villas feature oversized indoor bathtubs and outdoor showers. For an additional supplement, your villa can be located directly on the beach.

Children are welcome at Six Senses Zighy Bay. There is a kids club, 'Chaica's Club' offering a wealth of activities including snorkeling, water polo, tennis, crab hunting, sandcastle building and educational activities such as learning about marine biology and the environment.

Six Senses Zighy Bay is located on the northern Musandam Peninsula in the Sultanate of Oman, a simple 2-hour journey from Dubai. The setting of this beautiful, indigenous and village-style accommodation and private marina is spectacular, with the dramatic mountains on one side and a 1.6 kilometer sandy beach at Zighy Bay, on the other.
When to go
The best time to visit Oman is between November and mid-March, when the cooler air brings the mountain scenery sharply into focus and daytime temperatures average 25°C. For the rest of the year, much of Oman is oppressively hot and hazy, particularly between May and August.
