A romantic island retreat in Fiji's spectacular Beqa Lagoon, Royal Davui Island Resort is where a privileged few can enjoy the solitude of a secluded island in total luxury and comfort, south of the mainland of Nadi.
Secluded on a remote lush island, atop a living barrier reef and fringed by white sand beaches and sapphire waters, Royal Davui is the perfect island to escape to. Located just a 20-minute flight South of the main island of Viti Levu, the island features just 16 secluded Vales (Fijian for “home”) nestled within 10 acres of lush vegetation with breathtaking views out over the lagoon and beyond. With a maximum of 32 guests on the island at one time, privacy, peace and first class service is guaranteed.
All the Vales offer a comfortable yet contemporary open plan design with their own plunge pools, decks for private dining and an award winning bathroom with Jacuzzi spa and ceiling that opens up to reveal the sunny or star filled sky above.
Overlooking the Beqa Lagoon is the Banyan Restaurant - the perfect setting for an a la carte breakfast, lunch or dinner, all of which are included in the price. The menu is Pacific rim inspired and changes daily to take advantage of the fresh local fruit, vegetables and seafood that simply does not get any better. There is also an extensive wine cellar offering the best of Australian and New Zealand wines and French champagnes.
The sparkling lagoon is ideal for water sports and sea kayaks, catamarans and snorkelling equipment are available. Beqa Lagoon is also on the edge of some superb scuba diving areas and sport fishing is also extremely popular with private charters available from the island.
On land, the island offers some interesting walking trails and cultural visits to local villages. Within the resort there is also croquet, board games, book and DVD libraries as well as fabulous soothing spa treatments.
All 16 vales have views out over the spectacular lagoon and are built in a contemporary Pacific style, with thatched roofs, high ceilings and private plunge pools. The three Island Vales are a 1-minute stroll to the beach and have open plan bathrooms, private decks and plunge pools. The six Deluxe Vales have the addition of a separate living room and the six Premium Vales are similar but with prime position for gorgeous panoramic views and the plunge pools are heated. The Royal Davui Suite is expansive and very private with a raised living room with fabulous views and a large heated plunge pool with a stunning outlook.
The Royal Davui Island Resort is an adults only sanctuary and has been designed with peace, privacy and romance in mind. Guests over the age of 16 years are wholeheartedly welcome.
Fresh seasonal produce is used in the daily changing menu which always features fantastic seafood among other local delicacies. The banyan tree growing through the hotel's main bar and restaurant is the heart of the resort, and here relaxed drinking and dining is at its best. There are also private dining decks dotted around the resort where you can experience a romantic dinner for two or you may like to dine in the comfort of your villa. The resort has an 18 metre main swimming pool, watersports centre offering a whole host of activities, DVD mini theatre, book exchange library, croquet, volleyball, PADI dive school and an exotic Fijian spa with tropical treatments on offer.
With so many activities and excursions it is difficult to know where to start! Kayaking, island walks, snorkelling, board games, bocce & croquet, catamaran sailing, volleyball, kava ceremonies and cultural village tours are all included on a complimentary basis. For an additional cost you can enjoy world class scuba diving, indulgent spa treatments, sport fishing, surfing, gourmet champagne beach picnics and Beqa Island hikes. Between four types of pillows, three private beaches, a personal plunge Jacuzzi pool, and the communal pool, there's no downside to the choices at this all-inclusive boutique resort. Set on a private 8-acre island, each of the resort's modern beach house-style villas juts out from a central hill to offer cruise ship-esque ocean views. Each features a king-size bed, a hot tub below electric roof shutters, double sinks, walk-in shower, full living room, and a plunge pool on one of two decks. Premium suites are simply larger than Deluxes, and the Davui Suite has a full pool. You can have spa treatments in your room and furnished picnic lunches on the beach. Excellent scuba-diving is available right off the beach. A typical dinner menu includes two appetizers, three entres such as seared swordfish with lobster potatoes, bok choy, salmon roe, and sauce vierge, and two desserts.
