Megève has a typically Alpine climate, with low temperatures (often sub-zero) between December and March and then warming up. Its proximity to Mont Blanc has a benign influence on its climate, guaranteeing more snow than in resorts of a similar altitude an quite often there are good snowfalls in April. Megeve is also beautiful in summer for an active break in the mountains with moderate temperatures and plenty of sunshine throughout the summer months.

Following World War I, Baroness Noémie de Rothschild had the vision to establish a new ski resort in the Alps, inspired by St. Moritz. She fell in love with the panoramic views from Mont d’Arbois, it was here she built the family’s first hotel in 1926. The accommodation of the hotel is split across three traditional wooden chalets, renovated in a luxurious alpine farmhouse style to reflect the heritage of the Rothschild family.

The refuge can sleep up to 6 adults or 6 adults and 2 children using sofa beds. Only accessible by the ski lifts or Polaris off-road vehicle, a fun experience to reach your mountain hideaway.

The delicious food of Prima Restaurant is based around local cuisine created by Chef Nicolas Hensinger. The mountains that surround Megève are his inspiration, using locally foraged plans and herbs is vital to his dishes. The art filled restaurant was awarded its first Michel star in January 2019 and the wine list highlights vineyards of Edmond de Rothschild Heritage. The fresh alpine atmosphere of The Bar features a huge stone fireplace and an outstanding collection of art, selected by Baroness Benjamin de Rothschild. Here guests can enjoy lunch, dinner or light snacks and après-ski cocktails.

The intimate spa offers a chance to soothe your skiing limbs and drift away with a massage, facial or beauty treatment using organic products by Bamford. The spa features a sunny fitness centre and indoor-outdoor heating swimming pool.

Megève is a very attractive village, very French, upmarket and glamorous. The driver service will take guests into the village which takes around 5 minutes. Its proximity to Geneva makes it ideal for anyone wanting to avoid a long transfer.
