Antarctic weather is a lesson in extremes. Antarctica is the world’s coldest, windiest and driest continent. During the summer months the winds abate considerably and the weather is surprisingly comfortable, averaging between 20 and 50F. Summertime also means 18-24 hours of sunlight which allows life to flourish for a brief summer period. Long days also allow extensive exploration by small ship cruise to Antarctica. Antarctic weather allows for a short season of cruising from November to March each year.

Description
The newest offering from Hapag Lloyd Cruises, the Hanseatic Inspiration is a sleek, well-equipped vessel with the highest PC6 ice class, 120 cabins and three restaurants. Glass balconies and a deck track at the bow enhance the viewing experience.
The latest vessel in the Hapag Lloyd family, the Hanseatic Inspiration boasts 120 cabins and suites, with three restaurants, a spa and a fleet of Zodiacs for shore trips. Spend your days breaking through ice and getting onto the water in a Zodiac, and your evenings looking out at the shimmering ocean from a glass balcony, cocktail in hand. Dine on Peruvian and Japanese cuisines and soak in the ocean landscape from the warmth of the Finnish sauna.
The 120 cabins of the Inspiration are split across Cabins, Junior Suites and Grand Suites, each sharing the same attention to detail and elegant decor. Simple, minimalist lines and white linens are given a taste of the sea with muted blues and greens that echo the serene landscape visible through the large windows. Each room comes complete with binoculars, Nordic walking poles, air-conditioning, a coffee machine and complimentary mini-bar, while the Suites feature separate living areas, a steam sauna and butler service. Ranging from 21m² to 71m², the cabins and suites are light, airy and offer exceptional views of the passing landscape.
Boasting a large Observation Deck with permanently mounted binoculars and an Observation Lounge on the lower deck with 180° view, the Hanseatic Inspiration has been well-thought out to enhance your experience of the Antarctic landscapes. A deck track at the bow offers front row seats while the PC6 ice class rating, the highest for a passenger ship, makes breaking through the ice as easy as possible. Equipped with a state-of-the-art stabiliser system the vessel offers the smoothest possible journey, even when faced with the choppy waters of Drake Passage. From the international cuisines of the main restaurant to the Japanese and Peruvian dishes of the speciality restaurant and the al fresco dining of the bistro, Hanseatic Inspiration has a wealth of dining options, alongside two bars and 24-hour cabin service. After an excursion in a Zodiac, relax in the Finnish sauna with its ocean view, or unwind by the pool. Continue to enjoy the views of the ocean as you work out in the well-equipped fitness centre or indulge in a massage at the spa.
Head ashore on the ship’s Zodiac or discover nature up close on the ocean, snowshoe hike across the ice or take out a kayak, stand-up paddleboard or snorkelling equipment from the Marina (available only on certain itineraries). Onboard lectures and presentations bring to life the wildlife and landscapes that surround you as you cruise on the Hanseatic Inspiration.
