Alaskan Culture Experience: Homer Half Day Trip at Stillpoint Lodge
One of Alaska’s most important towns, Homer is known as the halibut fishing capital of the world. Located at the end of the Sterling Highway, 200-miles south of Anchorage, the town’s shops, museums, galleries, and fine dining opportunities, along with its attractive fishing harbor, make it a lovely place to spend some time. The tour begins with a 20-minute boat trip to the Homer Spit. This long narrow finger of land extends 5-miles into Kachemak Bay and is home to the fishing harbor. It’s a great place to spot sea lions, seals, and sea otters. From here you will be driven into the main town to explore its many delights and attractions. The trip includes an option for lunch at a restaurant of your choice.
