Namiri Plains Camp
  • Enviously situated in an untouched corner of Eastern Africa.

  • Spacious, stylish tented suites overlooking the Serengeti plains

  • Boasts amazing big cat populations and East Africa's best cheetah viewing opportunities.

  • Perfect base for those traveling to witness the Great Migration - one of the greatest natural wonders of the world.

The area in which Namiri Plains is situated was closed for the past 20 years to create a safe haven for cheetah and was used as a research base for the Franklin Zoological Society. The area reopened in 2014, with Asilia as its custodian, and as such is truly big cat country and offers the best cheetah viewing opportunities in East Africa.

Here you will find a deeper and more intense wildlife experience than in other areas of East Africa and the camp offers 360 degree views of the surrounding plains and the river area. The migration returns from Kenya in October and during November and December you can have fantastic predator sightings as the resident big cats feast on the herds of wildebeest and zebra passing by. This is just after the rains have come and the eastern plains are blanketed with new grass. There will be wildebeest grazing as far as the eye can see and outstanding photo opportunities.

This is an area that is still pretty much untouched and your nearest neighbor would be over 45-minutes away. Spend the days on game drives through the plains, enjoy your breakfast on top of Soit Le Motonyi rock while watching the sun rise and then watch it go down again while relaxing on top of a kopje enjoying sundowners.
