Kudawella, meaning small beach, is a beautiful bay on Sri Lanka's south coast, just off the Tangalle Road. On this early morning experience, your guide will take you around this small fishing harbor pointing out the different fish.

From yellowfin tuna to jackfish, you'll come across plenty of exotic Sri Lankan fish. Some of the local fishermen go out on two-three weeks trips and preserve the fish in large ice containers. When they come back, the fish is inspected and weighed before being sold on to the highest bidder.

We recommend you wear closed toe shoes for the fish market. Ladies should also cover their legs and shoulders to avoid drawing attention to themselves. Finally, don't forget to take your camera. The fish market is a very vibrant place and boasts excellent opportunities to take photographs.

You will return in time for breakfast by about 8.30am. Please note, this experience will not operate on Sundays and Poya (full moon) days as the fish markets are closed.
