Urubamba White-Water Rafting
Anyone looking for a fun and adventurous day out from Cuzco or Sacred Valley should try this superb white-water rafting trip, which takes guests down a beautiful section of the Urubamba River - suitable for almost all ages and abilities.
The section of the river we recommend is usually the class III-IV Chuquicahuana section or the lower Cusipata section (for younger families) located above Cuzco.
No experience is needed to take part in this great day out. It takes one and a half hours to drive to the river. On arrival the rafts will be inflated and there will be a full safety briefing and instruction in the art of white-water rafting before setting off for approx two hours of fun white-water rafting. The river starts gently with time to practice the manoeuvres required, then builds up with more fun rapids through a beautiful canyon. After approximately two hours of rafting, you will reach the take out point and enjoy a full picnic lunch before returning to Cuzco mid to late afternoon.
Included:Swift Water Rescue trained Spanish-speaking guide, , transport, lunch, all white-water & safety equipment.
Equipment list: Towel, shorts, swimming costume, T-shirt or thermal top, sun hat, sun tan lotion, string for glasses, cameras. Warm change of clothes. Any gear not used on the rafting trip (also any non-rafting passengers) will travel separately and meet you at the end of the trip where lunch will be served.
