Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Cuzco’s location and altitude result in only two seasons: rainy and dry. The rainy season typically lasts from November to March, with the heaviest rains arriving in January and February. The best time to visit Cuzco and the surrounding area is during April-October. Though daytime temperatures rest in the mid-to upper 60s throughout the year, the city sees fewer rain showers during its winter months. Bring warm clothing as night-time temperatures dip into the low 30s and 40s due to the altitude.

Palacio Nazarenas, A Belmond Hotel is a stunning former palace and convent and has emerged from years of restoration to become one of Cuzco's finest hotels. Owned and run by the exclusive Belmond group of hotels and has the only outdoor pool in Cuzco.

Palacio Nazarenas, A Belmond Hotel is the new sister property to the landmark Hotel Monasterio, A Belmond Hotel, a former 16th century monastery owned and operated by Belmond. These two properties are located on Nazarenas Square, just a few minutes by foot from both the Plaza de Armas, where Cuzco’s Cathedral and most important museums are located, and the arty San Blas quarter.

Step past walls of Inca stones and into a cloistered courtyard with an ancient fountain at its heart. Then be surprised as contemporary Cuzco comes to the fore: a fabulous spa, the city's first outdoor pool and stylish restaurants serving cutting-edge local cuisine.

This intimate retreat has just 55 suites, each enriched with oxygen and with its own private bar where guests (or their private butler) can create drinks accented with fresh ingredients grown at and around the hotel.

Hidden behind an ancient facade, within the largest of seven cloistered terraces, you’ll find the heart and social hub of Palacio Nazarenas and Cuzco’s first outdoor heated swimming pool.

Palacio Nazarenas, A Belmond Hotel has a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, guest lounge and library, spa and boutique.

Senzo Restaurant serves a sumptuous breakfast buffet and offers an a la carte menu which has a strong Andean influence but dishes can be custom made to suit individual tastes. Senzo Bar, located by the pool, serves refreshing drinks, a large selection of South American wines and colorful light dishes.

Hypnôze Spa has developed its own brand of treatments to improve physical, mental and emotional well being. Organic products made from Peruvian ingredients are used to help achieve this goal. Some of the treatment rooms have glass floors exposing the Inca Wall underneath - a magical experience.

The Belmond Palacio Nazarenas is the definition of luxury. Every last detail that you could possibly imagine has been taken care of. From the heated floors in the bathroom and the pure oxygen being pumped into the room, to the personal butler service that is available 24 hours. The staff here have thought of every single desire you could ever think of and taken care of it! This property encompasses luxury and you won't find a nicer hotel in Cusco!

Cheska Lowe (Staff)

One of the top hotels on my trip to Peru, the Belmond Palacio Nazarenas is THE best hotel in Cusco. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and the staff are always on hand to help, with that wonderful, impeccable Belmond service. At 3,400m, Cuzco is at a very high altitude. To combat this and acclimatise easier, they have an in-room oxygen system to help you sleep better. Every room also has its own butler to cater for your every need, and the outdoor heated pool is the best place to chill out after spending the day exploring the city. Senzo restaurant draws its influences from local cuisine serving up Quechua favorites with an international twist.

Karen Chapman (Staff)

The newest addition to the Belmond portfolio of hotels in Peru, the Belmond Palacio Nazarenas is undoubtedly the finest place to stay in Cuzco. The suites are designed in a luxurious, elegant style, with lots of individual touches, and the bathrooms are incredibly sumptuous. The hotel is set around beautifully landscaped gardens and exudes peace and tranquility. One of the most notable features of the hotel is that it has the first outdoor pool in Cuzco, perfect for relaxing after a day out exploring the sites. At the restaurant guests can enjoy exquisite Andean cuisine at the Senzo restaurant and afternoon tea in the hotel's secret garden. There are also cooking classes on offer for those looking to learn the secrets of Peruvian cuisine to take back home with them.

The magnificent city of Cusco, buried deep in the Andes, has long been on every traveler's wish list, but the new Palacio Nazarenas makes this year a great time to go. The new Orient-Express dazzles with its details: hits and hers shoetrees, revitalising drinks (Cacao & Maca, 'a magnesium and Vitamin C kick') delivered daily to your room, and the ingredients lined up in your bar for a butler to mix a fine Pisco Sour. The big, oxygen-enriched suites are done out in natural colors overlaid with heavy silver artifacts, embroidered linens and fragrant, fresh white flowers. Vies are of the cobbled courtyards of this 18th-century former convent, or the hotel's swimming pool (Cusco's first outdoor). The spa offers massages with aromatic local herbs in treatment rooms where ancient Inca ruins lie floodlit beneath you. The food is a big draw: acclaimed chef Virgilio Martinez makes the most of the surrounding mountains and valleys to deliver lean, uncluttered dishes of wood-grilled, leap-wrapped corn, white-trout tiradito, black quinoa, and a fish ceviche with a tree-tomato sauce that's as sensational as the hotel itself.
