Days 1-3: Lima
Your journey begins in Lima, the capital city, where we recommend spending two nights as a perfect introduction to Peru. Here you can enjoy your first taste of Peruvian hospitality and sample a traditional pisco sour, perhaps with a dish of ceviche for lunch. Lima’s gastronomic scene is firmly on the up, with a number of world-class restaurants having popped up in recent years. Make the most of your stay in the city and book a table at one of the top spots in town to enjoy after a day of exploring. We have included a foodie tour to whet your appetite for what’s to come!

Days 3-7: Sacred Valley
Fly down to Cuzco and travel into the Sacred Valley where your journey back in time to the days of the Incas begins. Spend your days visiting ancient Inca sites and vibrant Andean villages, admiring the architecture at Ollantaytambo and Chinchero, which are not to be missed. A full day horseback riding excursion is included as it’s a great way to explore the rolling landscapes. A full day trip to the ruins at Machu Picchu has also been included, taking the luxurious first-class Inca Rail service. Watch as the clouds peel off the surrounding mountains and the ruins - it is a magical sight to behold. Explore this hilltop city with a knowledgeable guide, learning the secrets of the sun gate and debate the mysteries of how and why this impressive civilization disappeared. Days 7-10: Cusco
From Machu Picchu, continue by luxury train down the valley to the ancient city of Cuzco, whose charming terracotta rooftops cover the valley. Explore the museums and winding streets, taking in lively markets and bartering for souvenirs. Stay at the historic Belmond Monasterio Hotel, a former monastery which has been lovingly converted into a beautiful hotel. A privately guided tour of the city and its surrounding ruins has been included.

Days 10-12: Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu
After exploring Cuzco, board the luxurious Belmond Andean Explorer sleeper train for an unforgettable two-night journey to the volcanic city of Arequipa, stopping in Puno on the shores of the mirror-like Lake Titicaca along the way. Lake Titicaca is the world's highest navigable lake and home to the famous Uros Indians who live on islands made of Totora reeds. Explore some of the lake's islands and interact with the locals before continuing to Arequipa which is the gateway to the Colca Canyon. Tour the beautiful “White City”, so named because of the dazzling sillar stone which was used to build much of the city, visiting its fascinating treasure trove of museums. All of your meals and activities are included whilst on board, with accommodation in luxurious cabins.

Days 12-14: Colca Canyon
