Our guide to Italy

Rome

Bursting with fascinating ancient monuments, art galleries and endless shops, cafes and trattorias, Rome is a beautiful city that must be visited at least once. Take a private tour around the city to visit such sights as the Colosseum and the Pantheon, marvel at the size and splendour of the Vatican, and admire some of the most important Renaissance and Baroque paintings in the Borghese Gallery.

The State Department has changed their advice for travelers to Italy to Level 3 (re-consider travel). From 8 March, the Italian authorities extended the area of isolation to cover the whole of the Lombardy region and the provinces of Modena, Parma, Piacenza, Reggio Emilia and Rimini (all in Emilia Romagna); Pesaro e Urbino (in Marche); Venezia and Padova (in Veneto); Asti and Alessandria (in Piemonte). The State Department advice will be regularly reviewed and may be changed depending on how the fast-changing coronavirus situation evolves. Also see our travel information regarding Coronavirus.
