Bedouin & Community Experiences in Dana Nature Reserve
Dana Nature Reserve, Jordan
Feynan Ecolodge is at the heart of the area's Bedouin community and has a range of experiences allowing guests to meet and interact with the locals. This can include being a shepherd for the day, or learning how to bake 'Arbood'; a traditional bread.
Other experiences can include learning about and making Arabic coffee, including the Bedouin etiquette of serving and drinking, weaving goat-hair tents, and making Kohl; the eye make-up used by the Bedouins for both health benefits and cosmetics.
These experiences will range between 2-5 Jordanian Dinars per person, with the money going directly to the local people involved. The exact activities on offer will not be decided until a few days in advance, and so it is best to sign up for these locally once you are at Feynan Ecolodge.
