Malang Tour and Temple

Visit the Hindu-Buddhist Jajaghu temple in Jago, a small village in eastern Java. Jago, meaning sacred place, is exactly that and fuses Hinduism and Balinese Buddhist practices.
Next, onto Sumberawan, a stupa or Buddhist shrine built to pay homage to a revered monk whose remains are found here. This is the only true Buddhist stupa in East Java, dating back to 13th Century. Now it is a place of worship and meditation.
On your way back to Malang, walk through the bird market, which is situated close to the flower market too. The bird market or Pasar Senggol is home to many different colored birds, animals and tropical fish.
Finally, end with a rest and treat yourself to some home-made ice-cream at the Dutch-built Toko Oen, a café cum restaurant. Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy some people watching at this Malang hotspot before returning home.
