Library of Alexandria

Alexandria, Egypt

Designed by a Norwegian architecture, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina is a feat of modern engineering in attempt to revive the Great Library of Alexandria which was lost in antiquity.

With shelf space capable of housing eight million books, the Library of Alexandria spreads over 11 cascading levels and an array of art exhibitions under its 32-meter-high glass-panelled roof.
