A visit to the National Civil Rights Museum is an emotive experience. This private after-hours tour provides the intimacy and the opportunity for a deep dive into the tumultuous development of the movement. You will meet your guide at the museum just before the doors close to the public, for your 90-minute private tour. The museum is housed on the site of the former Lorraine Motel, where Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated in 1968, and offers visitors a multi-sensory, interactive, and insightful experience. You will learn about slavery, the ‘separate but equal’ doctrine, boycotts, sit-ins, black power, and key historical moments that changed USsociety. These include the Brown vs Board of Education ruling and the Montgomery Bus Boycotts. Your guide is on hand to answer any questions as you chart the pains and gains of the US Civil Rights Movement.
