Today, you will embark on an enriching, interactive cultural sailing charter aboard a traditional Polynesian wa'a kaulua-an all wood, double-hulled sailing canoe. Your vessel was originally built by the king of Tonga and has since been modernised with a restroom for more comfortable use.
During your two-hour sail, a cultural practitioner will regale you with tales of past people, deities, and places that bring the Hawaiian culture to life. With the Waikiki coast in the background, you will learn traditional Hawaiian skills such as pounding poi, hula dancing, and lei making. You will be treated to the flavors of the islands with a traditional meal of ahi, poke, smoked marlin/swordfish, chicken, Hawaiian sweet potato, coconut, and tropical fruit.
After your immersion into Hawaiian culture, you will return to the dock to enjoy the rest of your day at leisure.
The proceeds of your experience will subsidise the cost of educational sails for local schoolchildren.
