Situated only 6° south of the equator, Zanzibar enjoys ideal holiday weather. Temperatures average between 24°C and 27°C throughout the year with 7-9 hours of sunshine per day.
There are 2 rainy seasons: Acute, brief showers, lasting about an hour in the morning occur for a couple of weeks during November. The rains last slightly longer in April and May, but even then it does not rain every day. These rains replenish the Island and are often referred to as the “Green Season”.
To start planning your holiday to The Palms Zanzibar
The Palms is a luxury complex of six villas set on the award winning beach of Bwejuu on the South East coast of Zanzibar. With only six villas, it is small and intimate - perfect for honeymooners or couples looking for privacy.
The Palms is a beautiful beach retreat set in tropical gardens overlooking the award winning beach (chosen by Conde Nast Traveller magazine as one of the top 30 beaches in the world). The six private thatched “bandas” shelter day beds and loungers to provide intimate beachfront privacy.
The hotel offers the luxuries and comforts of a high quality resort in a relaxed and intimate setting.
Each of the six palm-thatched villas exudes an atmosphere of understated elegance and is equipped with air-conditioning, satellite TV, day beds and private outdoor jacuzzi. There is a driftwood bar and a beautiful mosaic pool, and guests looking for total relaxation of the mind and body can enjoy the Sanctuary Spa next door at Breezes Beach Club, which provides a blissful and tranquil setting as well as a wide range of treatments. Facilities at Breezes (which can be used by residents of The Palms) also include a gym, floodlit tennis court, windsurfing, snorkelling and scuba diving.
At low tide, guests are able to go for a reef safari where you take a walk out to the coral reef and see the spectacular marine life. Guests will be accompanied by a member of staff out on the coral shelf in front of the hotel and will point out many of the juvenile fish that seek refuge in the shallow waters at low tide. The guests can learn how the coral itself is vital to the island and its inhabitants as well as information about the sea life they encounter.
The Palms has six very spacious villas. Each villa has a bedroom, living room, full en-suite bathroom, dressing room, extra room with its own en-suite bathroom and a large furnished terrace with magnificent views of the Indian Ocean. The rooms are well-appointed and very comfortable to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
|The Palms Villa||
The Palms Villas all have a large bedroom with a king size bed, a living area and a private terrace. There is also an additional bedroom with its own en suite bathroom.
Only children over the age of 16 years are welcome to come and stay at the resort. This is because the nature of the resort makes it unsuitable for younger children.
The Water Club water sports centre is located approximately 300 meters from The Palms on the beach front. Offering instruction in wind surfing, kite surfing and sailing. The international team of professional therapists offers a wide variety of treatments in the spa.
Each of the luxury, air conditioned villas has a private outdoor plunge pool, satellite TV & DVD player, a mini bar, safe deposit box, standing bar with tea / coffee making services and a telephone.
The Water Club water sports center is located approximately 300 meters from The Palms on the beach front. Featuring a great selection of new equipment and offering instruction in wind surfing, kite surfing and sailing. Cultural visits around Zanzibar and to local community projects can also be arranged. Facilities at neighbouring Breezes (which can be used by residents of The Palms) also include a gym, floodlit tennis court, windsurfing, snorkelling and scuba diving.

Much smaller than its sister-properties, Baraza and Breezes, The Palms is an intimate and exclusive resort with just six air-conditioned en-suite rooms centred around a swimming pool and bar area.
The emphasis here is on adults-only; the resort does not accept children under the age of 16 and actively discourages families, who would be much better suited to Baraza. The Palms is perfect for honeymooners and those wishing to get away from it all.
Each room is named after a spice, and each has its own corresponding beach banda with views over the sea. The benefit with The Palms is that guests are able to visit the sister properties each side Baraza and Breezes to enjoy the restaurants there or visit the spa.
Its a secluded little property and perfect for those wishing to stay at a smaller, more intimate resort without sacrificing the excellent spa and restaurant facilities of a larger resort.

The Palms is a great adults only small beach resort as they do not accept children, so you can be assured of peace and tranquillity. Each cottage has a lovely sala on the beach a lovely spot to relax and watch the world go by on the stunning white sand beach. The cottages are nice, with a huge double bedroom and then a second single room (which I have yet to work out why this is needed as children arent allowed, so I assume it comes in handy if your boyfriend or husband snores!)
