The Grand Hotel's idyllic waterfront location, next to the National Museum, offers stunning panoramic views of the city and most notably the Royal Palace and the old-town island, Gamla Stan. Stockholm's most interesting sights, not to mention fabulous designer shopping are also all within an easy walking distance making the hotel a perfect place to stay for a weekend of exploring the beautiful city.
The Grand's 278 rooms and suites are all individually designed with impeccable taste and traditional luxury and all come with beautiful marble bathrooms, wide screen TVs, a desk, comfortable seating and views of the courtyard, the side streets or stunning views across the water to the city.
The Grand has a fantastic variety of dining options to choose from. The Veranda restaurant offers Swedish and International fare and is the only Swedish restaurant to serve a traditional Smörgåsbord year round. The huge glass windows allow for uninterrupted views across the water that tempt you with the city's sights while you enjoy the delicious buffet breakfast.
The Cadier Bar is an elegant and sophisticated cocktail bar which serves à la carte breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, weekend brunch and arguably some of the world's best cocktails.
The highlight of the dining options is the hotel's Restaurant Mathias Dahlgren which is split into the Dining Room - a modern gastronomic restaurant which has 2 Michelin stars, and the Food Bar, a modern bistro awarded with 1 Michelin star and both focus on fresh and seasonal produce.
The Raison d'Etre Spa and Gym is spread over two floors and is beautifully designed and fabulous - particularly for a city spa. There are numerous treatment rooms, a swimming pool and several saunas and steam rooms and refreshingly icy plunge pools!
