The Kandy House is an exceptional example of an ancestral home, dating back 200 years, is set in glorious jungle gardens 15 minutes outside of the town of Kandy, the cultural capital of the island. The restoration has been undertaken with great care and the result mixes colonial charm and elegance with modern design touches. With only nine rooms the house retains an atmosphere of a private home and makes for the perfect retreat after a day out and about in the hill country and town.
Dining takes place outside on a sheltered veranda and the menu is different every day offering a fusion of traditional Sri Lankan delicacies with modern international dishes and flavours, using the freshest ingredients to be found in local markets. The fantastic cocktail list, leaves you wanting to stay one more night just to try one more.
In the gardens you will find a yoga pavilion and an infinity pool with a view to die for. You can relax with a delicious cup of green tea while enjoying the company of 59 different species of birds or the hotel will be happy to help you organize a trip to one of the many attractions within easy reach.
