During spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), the country basks in delightful warmth and the climate is dry, making them both good times to visit Morocco at its most beautiful. You’ll find temperatures between 19°C (Casablanca) and 28°C (Atlas Mountains). Summers bring intense heat, particularly in the desert regions where it reaches over 40°C in July and August. Winters (December to February) offer cooler days and chilly nights, especially in the mountains but you’ll still find blue skies, sunshine, and temperatures in the 20s.

The weather in Morocco in the summer months (well into the 40s) gets very hot, however Casablanca stays cooler, with temperatures around 24°C to 26°C. Dive into the city's vibrant art scene at the Museum of Moroccan Judaism or the Villa des Arts. Before the heat of the summer reaches its peak, a trip to Skoura in June will reward you with beautiful weather. An oasis, Skoura is surrounded by acres of palm groves, les palmaraie, dotted with kasbahs and small villages. Experience chauffeur-driven 4X4 excursions to the Dades or Draa valleys or the stunning Valley of the Roses - or take a quad bike, or motorbike, for adventure. Autumn is one of the best times to visit Morocco, when the intense heat of the summer has calmed, and the skies are still bright blue. Head to Fes to discover Morocco’s authentic historic sites and ancient traditions. Its car-free medina is beautifully unmodernised, and you’ll find weavers, dyers and many artisans working their crafts. Morocco in October brings temperatures in the 20s and 30s, making it a great option for the October half term, and as Fes is less bustling than Marrakech, it’s a great option for a family holiday. As is an adventure in the Agafay Desert, just 45 minutes from Marrakech, where the dry, hot weather sets the scene for action-packed outdoor itineraries, from quad-biking to walking with camels and eating under the stars, serenaded by local musicians and dancers.

December, January, February
While January and February can be cool in parts of Morocco, the Atlas Mountains remain tepid, with temperatures in the mid-10s, making it one of the best times to go to Morocco’s majestic southern mountain range, particularly if you want to trek. Crisp air, sunny days and snow-capped mountains in the distance make for an ideal setting. Routes vary in difficulty, from quiet paths around Imlil and the Ouigane Valley to a four-day expedition climbing Toubkal, which requires ice picks and experienced mountain guides. The Atlas Mountains in winter are suitable for families, as well as keen adventurers both of whom will enjoy the kind of activities that are suited to winter sun, such as outings to meet Berbers, horse riding, mountain biking, rafting and hot air balloon rides. In the higher altitudes, there is often snow in the winter, which even allows for skiing. Or you could just lie by the heated swimming pools and soak up some Vitamin D.
