When building Milaidhoo, the mission statement was to create a sanctuary of simplicity that backed away from the increasingly grand resorts that have recently become the norm for the Maldives. The resort has 50 custom-made, spacious villas and residences, made from natural materials with thatched roofs that blend perfectly into the spectacular surroundings. Either positioned on stilts over the turquoise ocean waters or tucked away between palm trees on the beach, all villas have been designed to provide the utmost in comfort with traditional Maldivian elements throughout, from the 'undhoali' (swing chair) on the sundeck to the uniquely designed furnishings in the living space.
