Highlights
The fresh and contemporary decor is ideal for those looking for luxurious but fuss-free accommodation
A great option for those who want to get out and explore, as the hotel is close to local shops and restaurants as well as the night market
The 25-metre pool is perfect for a refreshing dip after a day of site-seeing
The Bistro offers a range of both Lao and French-inspired cuisine
The hotel site itself has been in use since 1914, starting as quarters for French officers. However, whilst there are some local elements to the design, the Avani+ is very much fresh and contemporary - ideal for those looking to avoid the drawbacks that can come with more period properties.
There are 53 rooms within an L-shaped building, spread over two floors. The rooms have all of the comforts you would expect from a luxury hotel, including TV, tea and coffee making facilities, a mini bar and WI-FI. The decor is natural and light, using neutral tones and clean lines.
When not exploring the many sites of Luang Prabang and the surrounding countryside, there is a 25-metre pool to enjoy at the hotel, overlooked by an ancient banyan tree. There is also a tranquil spa, with therapies and treatments inspired by Laotian and traditional Asian techniques, as well as a fully equipped gym and yoga classes.
The Bistro offers a relaxed and social atmosphere for dining, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Breakfast is a continental buffet, and traditional bistro and Lao dishes are served for lunch. For dinner, both local and French-influenced cuisine is available. For those who just want to quench their thirst, there is the Bistro Bar and the Poolside Bar, which serves freshly prepared smoothies and cocktails.
