Luxury Holidays to Cannes

La Croisette is the heart of modern Cannes and is a palm-lined high street that runs beside the Mediterranean. At one end of the boulevard you’ll find the Palais des Festivals, the focal point of Cannes' famous film festival each spring. Along La Croisette luxury hotels such as the Carlton and Hôtel Martinez sit alongside designer boutiques from names including Chanel, Cartier and Dior. It also connects with some of Cannes’ most prestigious private beach clubs like historic Carlton Beach Club and chic La Plage du Martinez.

Rising above the harbour, Le Suquet is Cannes' historic quarter which reveals the city's older character. Make your way to rue Saint-Antoine to sample popular street food, like socca, or grab a table at one of its many charming cafés. In Le Suquet you’ll also find Cannes’ oldest market, Forville Market, with its maze of market stalls selling fresh produce, seafood, and flowers. For history lovers, make sure to check out the Musée des Explorations du Monde displaying a diverse collection of artwork and musical instruments within a former mediaeval fortress.

At the foot of Le Suquet, Vieux Port remains one of Cannes' defining historic harbours. Luxury yachts share the harbour with traditional fishing boats, while cafés and restaurants line the waterfront. It is also the departure point for yacht charters and hosts major events including the annual Cannes Yachting Festival.

Running parallel to the popular La Croisette, Rue d'Antibes is another popular shopping street and destination in Cannes. Fashion boutiques, perfumeries, homeware stores and cafés sit side by side, creating a more varied retail scene. Rue d'Antibes is just a short walk from the seafront and the Palais des Festivals.

Just offshore from Cannes, the Îles de Lérins feels entirely more naturalistic than the neighbouring Riviera. Îles de Lérins is made of two main islands: Saint-Honorat and Sainte-Marguerite. On Saint-Honorat, visit a historic monastery with a sprawling vineyard known for using traditional wine producing methods. Sainte-Marguerite is criss-crossed by walking trails through pine and eucalyptus forests and home to the historic Fort Royal, connected to the legend of the man in the iron mask. Both islands can be reached in under 20 minutes by boat from Cannes.
