Located in the chic French resort of Megève, Les Fermes de Marie is a 5-star alpine hotel formed of nine stunning chalets. Part of the Maisons & Hotels Sibuet, a family-run group of French properties, owners Jocelyne and Jean-Louis Sibuet painstakingly salvaged and restored a collection of centuries-old farmhouses to create a unique and special property.
The interlinked chalets feel more like a small hamlet than a hotel and boast rustically chic décor, with wood panelled walls, ceilings, and beams, carved antique furniture, furry throws, an earthy palette, sumptuous textured fabrics, and trophy animal heads, all curated to achieve a stylish and comfortable understated elegance.
The guest accommodation reflects the cosy alpine charm of the main chalet, with the same warm tones evident throughout the hotel. Club Rooms sleep two and most include a balcony with mountain views, along with an ensuite with bathtub. Amenities include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth speaker, TV, minibar, Pure Altitude bathing products and hairdryer. To sleep two adults and a child, book either the open plan Room with Lounge Area or a Prestige Room, which both have seating areas which include a sofa bed.
Families of up to four can book a Superior Family Room which includes a bedroom, a small single room, and a sofa bed in the living area. Larger families and groups of up to five, can book a Duplex Room which includes a bedroom, living area with a Wii games console and a mezzanine level with a large bed.
The lavish Junior Suites sleep up to three and feature a balcony or terrace, bedroom, and sofa bed in the living area, while the Junior Family Suites sleep up to four. For romance, the Rocheburne Suite sleeps two in the hotel’s round stone tower, while the Mont Blanc Suite has a romantic fireplace. Alternatively, families can book the Mont Joly Suite featuring two double bedrooms, one single bedroom and two bathrooms, sleeping up to five. There is also a semi-detached chalet, Rochebrune Chalet offering cosy apartment style accommodation sleeping up to four guests.
The hotel also boasts several standalone chalets which offer privacy and independence, alongside the services of a 5-star hotel and concierge service. Sleeping between 6 and 10 guests in superb style, the chalets include an atmospheric fireplace, living room, dining room, equipped kitchen, sauna, massage table, laundry room, ski room and private garage.
The principal restaurant, Le Restaurant des Fermes is in the main chalet and serves delicious Savoyard cuisine created from seasonal local produce. Breakfast is included in the rate and is both extensive and delicious. Those opting for half-board can also choose to dine in a further three restaurants in the centre of Megève. During the summer months, head to the mountainside location of L’Alpage des Fermes. Exclusively for guests, this rustic restaurant offers local specialities and panoramic mountain scenery. The hotel’s bar also serves snacks alongside a comprehensive menu of drinks, while afternoon tea is served in the lounge.
Inspired by nature, the Pure Altitude Spa has 13 treatment rooms all using the bespoke products created by Jocelyne from natural plant extracts. Facilities include an indoor pool, fitness room, indoor and outdoor whirlpool tubs, hammam, wet and dry saunas, outdoor sauna, Japanese baths, fitness room and hairdressing salon.
