Mountain restaurants in Courchevel

Skiing is hard work! The perfect excuse to have a nice big lunch on the mountain and experience some amazing Savoyard cuisine.

Mountain restaurants

The atmosphere of mountain restaurants is one of the essential elements of a skiing holiday. All sit down restaurants are usually very busy, especially in peak season and most only offer two sittings of 12pm and 2pm, it is therefore essential to book in advance. Many mountain restaurants in Courchevel 1850 are accessible by pedestrian lift so non-skiers can join the rest of the party easily. When venturing further a field keep an eye on the weather as lifts can close early in bad conditions leaving you stranded on the wrong side of the mountain and in need of a taxi!

La Bouitte - St Martin de Belleville

La Bouitte is a fabulous Michelin star restaurant in the village of St Marcel near the beautiful St Martin de Belleville. Tables must be booked in advance, often with a credit card number. Helicopter transfers home can be arranged.

La Cave des Creux - Gravelles, Courchevel 1850

Situated at the top of the Gravelles chairlift and above the Altiport, La Crave des Creux is our new favourite spot for lunch in Courchevel 1850. Run by two brothers who also happen to be ski instructors, Boris and Florian Glise, they have cleverly converted a former Alpine cheese ripening cellar into a wonderful restaurant in a fabulous location. There is a kids menu for under 12s, a good wine list and some delicious meat and fish specialities.

Le Bel Air - Ariondaz, Courchevel Moriond

Reasonably priced mountain restaurant in 1650 located at the top of the Ariondaz bubble, skiers can get there by blue and green runs. The small menu offers pastas, omelettes, steaks and salads. Great sun terrace. Non-skiers can take the bus to 1650 and then take the bubble lift up the mountain.

Le Cap Horn - Altiport, Courchevel 1850

Very much one of the places to ‘be seen’ in Courchevel, however the quality of the food and service is not always reflected by the expensive prices. Great atmosphere with live music in the afternoons. There is an added bonus of being able to access this restaurant by road so non-skiers can join the rest of the group.

Le Chalet de Pierres - Verdons, Courchevel 1850

Very ‘chic’ and quite similar to Cap Horn, however prices are not quite as high, although you should still expect a large dent in the wallet! Stunning sun terrace and beautiful interior. Great for non-skiers too.
