Skiing in Courchevel 1650

With a lift system linking the village to Méribel and Val Thorens, Courchevel 1650 is located in the eastern end of Les Trois Vallées and has sunny and forgiving slopes for beginner and intermediate skiers. It's an easy hop from Courchevel 1850 too, just two lifts or a 30-minute ski away, or a 20-minute bus ride if you'd rather leave the skis behind.

There's a wealth of blue and red runs to explore too, plus off-piste terrain further up the mountain for when you fancy more of a challenge.

Expert Skiing & Off-Piste Experiences

Beyond the nursery slopes, Courchevel Moriond opens straight onto the most extensive ski area in the world for those who want to push further.

The slopes here are wide and sun-drenched, and tend to be far less busy than those higher up, with fewer queues for the lifts. Sitting 200m lower than Courchevel 1850, the quiet, tree-lined runs are a real draw, and the Chapelets run, tracing the edge of the ski area, is one of our favourites. For stronger skiers, the off-piste of the Chanrossa Bowl is just as easy to reach from Moriond as it is from 1850. From there, the Marmottes chairlift carries you straight on to Méribel and 1850.

Après-Ski & Alpine Lifestyle

Evenings in Courchevel Moriond move at an easy pace. Shops, restaurants, and bars cluster around the village, and the après-ski hums along rather than roars, the kind of place where you can linger over a vin chaud without raising your voice over the music.

For lunch on the mountain, book ahead for Le Bel Air, the ski-in, ski-out restaurant at the top of its namesake lift. It's hugely popular for good reason, and just as easy to reach on foot if you're taking the day off skis.

Once the lifts close, a floodlit slope above the village opens for night skiing every evening at 7pm, one last run before dinner, assuming you haven't already had your fill of the après-ski.
