Tuesday: Parrot Clay Lick & Amazon Communities
Today involves an early start to see the remarkable sight of Parrot Clay Lick. Travelling by motorised canoe, you travel to an area rich in minerals which attracts hundreds of colourful parrots, macaws, and Amazon birdlife, who come to lick the clay, providing a healthy boost to their gut health. This is a highlight of the trip and a memorable experience you will never forget. In the afternoon there is a visit to the Kichwa Women’s Community Project, to learn about the indigenous lifestyle and culture that thrives along the Napo River. There is also the chance to support the community by purchasing handicrafts, local products, and souvenirs, as well as getting involved with the Charapas Turtle Conservation project that issupported by both the local community and Anakonda Amazon Cruises.
