You are in for a special treat as you take part in this guided hike up to the Cerro Tortuguero, where you will be treated to a spectacular birds-eye view of the Caribbean lowlands. After breakfast at the lodge, join your guide for a boat transfer to the Caribbean village of San Francisco, the gateway to Barra del Colorado National Wildlife Refuge. Your guide will point out the many species of local wildlife as you hike the well-maintained trail through dense rainforest foliage. You will be treated to seeing the many Howler, Capuchin, and Spider monkeys, poison dart frogs, sloths, and several types of wild cats that live in the park. Upon arrival at the peak, enjoy the breath-taking 360-degree view of the Caribbean lowlands, vast rainforests, and the complex network of rivers stretching eastward to the Atlantic Ocean.
