Best Time to Visit Austria
When is the best time to visit Austria? The Austrian Alps has an enviable reputation for its snow. The Eastern Alps frequently benefit from early snow and the largely pastoral terrain does not need a hugely deep base to offer great skiing conditions. As a result it frequently offers some of the best skiing in the Alps in December and January. The microclimate means that snowfalls are more prolific than in many other resorts and with plenty of skiing above 2000 metres, conditions can be great right up until late April. The summer months (June to August) offers the best weather for hiking and biking, with Autumn bringing its fare share of good weather too and smaller crowds.
