Description

La Cantera Jungle Lodge is a boutique rainforest eco-lodge, between the town of Puerto Iguazu and the Iguazu Falls. Offering great value for money and an appealing rustic style, it is a comfortable and well located option for visiting the Iguazu Falls.

Designed and constructed to have minimal environmental impact, La Cantera Jungle Lodge is a small  lodge set among a private nature reserve of Misiones rainforest. The lodge consists of just 24 spacious air-conditioned rooms that are contemporary in style but charmingly rustic, featuring colours and textiles of the Guarani Indians who inhabit the region. Rooms are well-equipped and come with a balcony which is great for sitting out on and watching the jungle stir to life in the morning, and a nicely-fitted bathroom, many with stand-alone bathtubs in addition to a shower.

La Cantera’s restaurant El Boyero serves mostly local dishes and some international cuisine and has a well-stocked wine cellar. All guests can enjoy spa treatments including body and facial relaxing massages, featuring natural essences and oils. There is also a lovely outdoor swimming pool surrounded by decking and day beds that offers respite from the heat of summer.

The incredible falls and Iguazu National Park were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986 in a bid to preserve many rare and endangered species of wildlife that inhabit the Rio Iguazu and surrounding sub-tropical rainforest, where it is not unusual to glimpse toucans, parrots and morpho-blue butterflies dodge in and out of the falls. The thunderous roar of crashing water and the iridescent mist that rises above the falls is an incredible, awe-inspiring sight that has lost none of its impact since first discovered by Europeans in 1542.
