A hotel to write home about, the original features, warm honey hues and opulent décor give Madame Rêve an alluring old-world glamour.
Experience the vibrancy and authenticity of contemporary Paris with a stay at Hôtel Madame Rêve.
Centrally located in the city’s celebrated 1st arrondissement, many of the city’s major attractions are within a 10 minute walk and neighbours include the Louvre, Jardin desTuileries, LaSamaritaine, Bourse du Commerce Centre Pompidou, and the Left Bank.
A short walk from the Louvre and the Jardin des Tuileries, the hotel is housed in the grand 19th century building, La Poste du Louvre. For over two centuries, Parisians have flocked to this magnificent post office to buy stamps, pay taxes, and send passion-soaked lettres d’amour. Today, it’s a hotel to write home about.
Led by artistic director, Laurent Taïeb, a team of 70 French artists, designers and craftsmen have restored and transformed the interior using warm woods, honeyed marble, and golden hues. Original features have been restored where possible and highlights include a roof terrace and interior sky garden inspired by Gustav Eiffel, a penthouse Japanese restaurant and generously sized rooms.
The interiors are resplendent with old world glamour – rows of opulent chandeliers, lines of slender black columns supporting lofty ceilings, walnut panelling, velvet drapes and oak flooring. In a nod to the building’s history, specially commissioned postal art includes rugs modelled on vintage telegrams, hand-fans covered with stamps and envelope portraits. Guests will also discover notecards in their rooms and a working post office on the second floor, to post any letters they may wish to send.
Choose from one of the 82 bedrooms including 19 suites. All bedrooms are on the Top floor where some of them offer spectacular views of the city’s most iconic buildings, including Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower and the rooftops of Montmartre. Around a third of the rooms have balconies or terraces and are spacious for Paris. The indulgent warm gold decor, leather furnishings, wooden flooring, bronze Bisazza tiles and gold-flecked lights in the bathrooms, all conspire to create a sense of understated glamour.
What is Paris without a spot of people watching? Head to the Madame Rêve Café and Cours Gutenberg Terrace (ground floor), to sit back and enjoy the sophisticated style on show, amid 19th century splendour. The restaurant offers a simple Mediterranean menu or for a younger vibe, head up to Roof, the rooftop bar or La Plume Restaurant and bar on the 3rd floor, to dine on modern Japanese-influenced cuisine, DJ sounds and panoramic cityscape views.
For those looking for an intimate nook, the wellbeing space has a spa and sauna and there is also a fitness centre. For a real treat, book a private yoga class at sunrise on the roof deck.
