Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Shanghai and eastern China’s subtropical climate brings with it four distinct seasons. The weather is generally mild and temperate, with a great deal of rainfall even in the drier months of the year. The frequent monsoon showers and scorching temperatures of June, July and August can make it uncomfortably humid, with the mercury regularly rising over 35°C. Winter is overcast and chilly, although snow seldom falls in this eastern region of China. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the best times to visit Shanghai and eastern China, with pleasant temperatures and fewer tourists.

Description

The Andaz Xintiandi is a soaring 28-story hotel that differs from the other city style properties in Shanghai; it's chic and design led and has more of a boutique feel. It's also brilliantly located in Xintiandi, an area full of upscale restaurants.

Located in downtown Shanghai, in Xintiandi, the Andaz is a sharp and sophisticated boutique style city hotel that's brimming with contemporary style. Think curved wooden hallways, floor to ceiling glass and commissioned modern Chinese art. The gleaming hotel soars up 28 stories, is home to 307 spacious rooms, several restaurants and bars.

Its location in the Xintiandi area, on the edge of the French concession, means the hotel is within an easy walk from many of Shanghai's museums, antique markets, luxury shops and restaurants.

Dining here is a real treat; Hai Pai serves modern Chinese cuisine, Eclair offers all-day cakes and snacks and 88 Sushi serves fresh sushi in contemporary surroundings. There's also a spa, fitness centre and indoor pool.

The Andaz is perfectly suited to those who like the comforts of an international city hotel but are also looking for some contemporary style.
