The best time of year to visit Halong Bay is during the spring or autumn. Because the bay is situated in the northern part of the country, it can get colder in the winter. The rainy season here is at its peak in July to September. July is the hottest month, January the coolest. The dry season runs from November to April.

Description
Paradise Elegance is a traditional yet luxurious junk boat, based in Vietnam's iconic Halong Bay. Spend one or two nights cruising this UNESCO World Heritage Site, taking in floating villages, mysterious caves and spectacular views.
Paradise Elegance offers 31 en-suite cabins, a spacious sundeck, spa, main restaurant and piano bar. The style is traditional and grand, using luxurious materials such as dark wood and leather. The boats are the largest in the Paradise Cruises fleet, with plenty of space to roam around on board. There is lots of outside deck space equipped with comfy chairs and sun-loungers, meaning you can relax whilst still making the most of the stunning scenery.
With large windows and balconies, the cabins aim to create a sense of space, and the suites boast a similar size measurement to an average hotel room. All the cabins have air-conditioning, and there is also no compromise on the in-room amenities, including toiletries, a hair-dryer, bathrobes, slippers and a safe. The cabins also come with complimentary mineral water.
Both Western and Vietnamese cuisine is available, with a buffet breakfast and lunch followed by a three or four-course a la carte dinner. Should you prefer not to do the afternoon site-seeing, it is also possible to stay on board and enjoy afternoon tea.
During the cruise you will explore highlights of Halong Bay with an English-speaking guide, and sail amongst some of the 2,000 limestone karsts that make this one of the most famous and dramatic vistas in the world.
Accommodation
There are four cabin categories, each with the same amenities, air-conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. The main difference is the location on the boat, and the size, with the suites offering an extra 10 square meters more space. The decor is smart, with polished dark wood floors and leather panelling.

Childcare
Children are welcome on board the Paradise Elegance but there are no specific facilities for them. Beds can be turned from doubles to twins.
It is worth being aware that some of the sites you will visit have lots of steps, some of which are steep and can be uneven. Parents may need to keep a fairly close eye on any younger children, particularly in the caves.
Facilities
Facilities on board include a dining room, reading area and bar. To add to the feeling of luxury and relaxation, there is a spa and also a sundeck, which has comfy chairs and sun-loungers.
Activities
Site-seeing is included with an English speaking guide, and focuses on the highlights of Halong Bay. For the one-night cruise, this usually includes venturing into some of the bay's hidden caves and climbing to the top of one of the karsts to take in an elevated view.
The two-night cruise follows the same itinerary for the first day, but on the second day guests will transfer to the Paradise Explorer in the morning for the day's excursions, whilst the Paradise Elegance takes the one-night cruise guests back to the marina.
Extra excursions on the two-night cruise include visiting the Tung Sau Pearl Farm and Cua Van Floating Village, reached by bamboo boat.
